THE CURATED LIST · UPDATED WEEKLY

Your Korea shopping list

A Korean local’s guide to new and noteworthy Korean products I’d recommend to my friends from abroad, with store picks and practical shopping tips.

OUR EDITORIAL PROCESS

How we choose products and keep this guide current

How products make the list

We look for items that recur in selected Korea shopping guides, are practical to find at identifiable Korean stores, and make sense as useful buys or packable gifts. Official tourism and retailer information helps verify shopping details. Traveler discussions add ideas, but are personal opinions—not proof of popularity, price, or quality.

How often we update

We review the guide every Monday (Korea time), checking product references, store and route links, and the dated price guides. Each product shows when its price reference was checked. Promotions, branch stock, and availability can change before the next review, so confirm with the linked store before you go.

This is an editorial shortlist, not a sales ranking or a guarantee of stock. We may update an item sooner if a source or store detail changes.

QUESTIONS FROM TRAVELERS

What’s worth a spot in your suitcase?

People compare what they can find at home, look for useful keepsakes, and ask what others would buy again. Start with what you’ll actually use or enjoy.

BEFORE YOU PACK

Can I bring it home?

Use these as packing cues, then check the rules for your departure, transit and destination. A product fitting in a bag does not guarantee customs entry.

01 / DESTINATION RULES

Check the rules where you land

Food and souvenir import rules differ by destination. Choose your arrival country for official customs or biosecurity guidance; check the item and ingredients before packing.

Choose a destination to see official guidance.
02 / LIQUIDS & GELS

Check security-screening rules

For U.S. screening, carry-on liquids, gels and creams generally need containers of 100 ml / 3.4 oz or less in the liquids bag. Put larger toner or sauce bottles in checked luggage, sealed in a leak-proof bag. Departure and transit rules may differ.

03 / BATTERIES

Keep power banks in your carry-on

The FAA says spare lithium batteries and power banks must be in carry-on baggage. Check battery capacity, your airline and rules at departure and connections.
